Our heroes awoke at six thirty a.m. to find the boat gently nosing into its berth at Sheerness. They hurriedly piled into the van and drove off into the blinding, early morning sunshine. As they drove towards the customs inspection they were feeling quite smug, for although they had been last onto the boat, they were first off. But the customs officer was obviously suffering from a hangover...
"Pull over to one side and wait please", he smirked, as he let everyone else through.
When the last cars and passengers had gone, H M Customs devoted their full attention to the Earlsmobile, but, in all fairness, they were a pretty decent mob. The first bag was opened...
"Hello", said H M Customs officer, "someone's done this before!".
Their cursory searching unearthed nothing illegal, for there was nothing illegal, our heroes having spent all of their money on beer, sausage and Schneemoustorte; so, very soon they were on their way again.
