The effects of the previous night's activities were demonstrated by our heroes' late arrival at the school. Although it was almost 11 o'clock, they came in in dribs and drabs, headed for the coffee machine, and, sinking wearily into chairs, went to sleep.
"I've just realised why we were all so pissed last night", sighed Toddy, "We were
all bloody well drinking non-
"Oh, that's what it was!!!"
Finally, they dragged themselves down to the class room, "Late again!" as one little gem put it. At least The Earls didn't have to do any dancing with the kids that day, for they were having a rehearsal for the school show that would take place that evening.
The kids had all been divided up into various sides for the different dances, so this time they were to dance alone; and a very good job they made of it too (one of them even adding to Len's music with a guitar accompaniment).
Chapter 8: Friday September 30th, 1977
LAST FLING IN BREMEN
Our heroes had planned to take the kids with them to dance in the Marktplatz after lunch, but this had to be cancelled because of the bad weather (not that the hard men were afraid of dancing in the rain; they just didn't want 'their' kids to get wet). So lunch was followed by a visit to the Tea Shop (run by the kids, in the school), and then a final rehearsal.
